No matter if you’re a known adventurer or a couch potato, we all need to spend a lazy Sunday every once in a while. But what can you do in Sydney that’s fun yet relaxing? Take a look!

Wedding Cake Rock

If you’re up for some nature exploration, hit the coastal walk of Sydney’s Royal National Park and find the famous Wedding Cake Rock. This slice of shimmering limestone rock is rising over the cliffs about an hour’s walk into the Coast Track. Once you spot it, you’ll see where its name comes from—it looks exactly like a silky white layer of a tasty wedding cake!

This formation is a casual tourist attraction, but not too many people come to see it, so you can expect some peace and quiet when you get to it. It’s also highly Instagrammable, so you’ll get to add some interesting photos to your profile. If you go visit the rock, you’ll not only come home with some amazing snaps but also get to enjoy some of the best views of the ocean slamming against the rocks below.

Float above Camden Valley

If you don’t mind waking up at 4 am, you’re in for a treat! Book a hot air balloon ride and enjoy the city’s skyline on one side and the Blue Mountains on the other. This is the best spot to catch the sunrise and capture all the amazing colors that fly across the sky. And don’t skip a wonderful breakfast with champagne!

Experiment with Sydney’s foodie scene

Sydney is famous for its amazing foodie scene. The entire city is a melting pot of different cultures, nations and religions and each brought something tasty to the table. So, if you don’t feel like cooking on a lazy Sunday, have a little relaxing adventure and go exploring Sydney’s many amazing eating spots. If you’re up for something very authentic, pick a good Vaucluse restaurant like the Botanica, and get ready for a taste rollercoaster. Best places even offer amazing spa experiences perfect for chilling and pampering, so you can finish your week on a high note.

The city is also spackled with many cheap eateries that serve amazing food you can grab while you walk the streets. All in all, Sundays are made for enjoying good food, so make sure to see what Sydney has to offer. And who knows, you might find your new fave spot!

Blues Point Reserve

Right across the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House lays Blues Point Reserve, one of the chilliest spots in the city. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the fireworks from the harbor or just let the time flies on a lazy Sunday while you take in the views—this is one of the rare places in Sydney from which you can see two of its most famous landmarks.

The best thing about Blues Point Reserve is the fact that it’s located only 15 minutes away from North Sydney station yet it’s very secluded, peaceful and relaxing. You’ll have the city on your palm and at the same time be far away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Sydney central business district. This gem is also perfect for families with children who can play at a playground and stay occupied the entire afternoon. While you can pack a picnic basket and have a fun al fresco meal, if you’re too lazy to prepare anything, North Sydney has an abundance of excellent eateries where you can grab a bite.

Bondi Icebergs Pool

If you’re a notorious Instagram user, make sure to reserve one lazy Sunday for Bondi Icebergs Pool. Located at Sydney’s most famous beach, this 50-meter saltwater pool is very popular among beachgoers and all people who love to relax, sunbathe and check out the crowd. This pool has been a famous attraction for many, many years yet the admission costs only a few dollars. You can also enjoy a cleansing sauna experience with your entrance fee and for 8 extra dollars, you can take a yoga class and really Zen out! There’s nothing better you can do on a lazy Sunday than give your body and mind a good relaxation session.

While Sydney offers many opportunities for fast-paced fun, it’s also a very chill city that’s perfect for relaxing Sunday adventures that will leave you recharged and ready to tackle the dreaded Monday.
