Airport parking… ? We know, it’s the one thing that most people forget to book before leaving for the airport. It might not be the most exciting task to cross off your list. But reserving an Adelaide Airport parking space sooner rather than later will certainly save you both time and money. Find out more about parking near Adelaide Airport. Including the best on-site and off-site options, as well as handy tips for bagging the best deal.
On-site Adelaide Airport Parking Facilities
On-site parking is popular for a variety of reasons. Most people choose it simply because it’s convenient and close to Departures. Unfortunately, proximity often comes at a cost. Meaning that you’ll need to pay extra to park within walking distance of check-in. If we haven’t put you off, you’ll find two official car parks at Adelaide Airport – the Terminal Car Park and the Long Term Car Park. Drive-up rates at the Terminal Car Park start at $42.00. Fees at the Long Term Car Park start from $33.00 for 24 hours. Find out more about these parking facilities below:
Terminal Car Park
The Terminal Car Park is a four-level car park with 1,650 covered parking spaces. It’s open 24/7 and offers parking that’s as close as you can get to the main airport building. There are a range of advanced security features in place at the Terminal Car Park, which not only keep your vehicle safe and secure but make parking a whole lot easier. When you enter the facility, there is an advanced lighting system that will guide you to the level with unoccupied parking spaces. And the facility also features designated parking spots for electric charging on Level 2.
Accessible parking is available, with 48 disabled parking spaces located close to the entrance. Access to the airport is made simple and quick with the undercover walkways that connect the parking garage to the airport. Before booking, you’ll need to bear in mind that vehicles over 2.2 metres can’t fit in the Terminal Car Park. If your vehicle is oversized, you might be better off parking in an open-air car park instead.
Long Term Car Park
The Long Term Car Park is the budget on-site airport parking option. Owned and maintained by Adelaide Airport itself, it’s an uncovered parking facility, located ten minutes away from the terminal on foot. Open 24/7, this economical airport parking facility was designed for long term bookings, typically for stays of 1-2 weeks. If you’d like to book for more than 30 days, you’ll have to make arrangements with the car park first. Accessible parking is available and conveniently located at the entry/exit area of the facility.
Up until recently, the Long Term Car Park offered free shuttle bus transfers to the airport, which ran on a 20-minute circuit. The shuttle service operated from 4.30 am until 11.20 pm, from the bus stop outside the entrance of the car park at the pay station booth. This has been indefinitely cancelled due to COVID-19, with no word on when it will restart.
Off-site Parking by Adelaide Airport
The easiest way to save money on Adelaide Airport parking is to book with an off-site facility. While there are a handful of off-site options available, we found two which consistently received positive reviews from past customers, and prioritised customer service and vehicle security. For affordable off-site parking, we recommend:
Andrew’s Airport Parking Adelaide
One of the most trusted private providers in the country, Andrew’s Airport Parking has recently opened each newest branch in Adelaide. Built on the motto of “good old-fashioned service”, the company is dedicated to offering top-notch services with a friendly smile to customers. The car park is open to meet all flights from ADL, and with more than 600 parking spaces available, gives you the option of choosing between undercover or outdoor parking.
Long term rates start at just $6.50 per day and include free transfers in both directions. These shuttles run on demand, and the ride takes just under 15 minutes. The car park can also assist you with a range of additional services for a reasonable price, including mechanical repair and detailing, and will ensure that your car is monitored 24/7 via CCTV and manned patrols.
Airport Security Parking
Another great option for off-site parking is Airport Security Parking. This family-owned company has been in the business since 1993. It prides itself in offering top-quality customer services at an affordable rate, and on being open to meet every flight from first until last. What’s more, is that its rates are charged on a sliding scale. The longer you stay, the less you pay per day. For example, for 30 days of parking, you’ll be charged just $6.00 per day.
It’s also well worth noting that Airport Security Parking is the closest off-site car park to the airport. Only 1km from the terminal, the parking facility offers free on-demand shuttles that will take you to/from the airport in less than 10 minutes. This facility is also highly rated for its security measures, including staff patrols, and 24/7 camera surveillance.
