Summer came in a blink of an eye. It was only yesterday when we had been trying to figure out what we were to do during New Year’s Eve, and we’ll enter July in just less than a month. This year has been pretty challenging, and that’s one of the biggest reasons why all of us should opt for the best summer ever. We might not be able to travel anywhere we want to or to travel with a lot of our friends, but there are ways to make this trip quite unforgettable. A tropical vacation might be just what you need, not only because it’s exotic, but also because this year we should be as close to nature as possible. Regardless of the destination that you choose, may it be a tropical beach in your country or a distant island, this is how to prepare properly:

The essentials

We spent the majority of 2020 in our homes, and while this doesn’t mean that we forgot how to pack for our vacation, it won’t hurt if we remember the essentials. The first things you need to put aside and make sure you bring is money, your passport and other travel documents that you might need with you, such as boarding passes and any booking confirmations that you have. Also, do not forget your charger and your cosmetics – these are the things that you won’t be able to buy at the destination you’re visiting, and even if you could – why would you if you already have them?

The cosmetics

Tropical Vacation

As far as cosmetics are concerned, you will have to make a proper list of what you want to bring. Of course, you will start with sunscreen which is of the utmost importance (also, know which kind of sunscreen you need), your moisturizer, and all other products that you use for your face and your body daily. Since you will be swimming in salty water a lot, make sure to bring something for your hair. Speaking of hair, as you will want to have that effortless look for the night dinners or clubs, bring a tube of high-quality natural hair wax that will make your hair look amazing. Quality hair products really do enhance the overall look and the quality of your hair.

The wardrobe

Now the biggest question – what clothes to wear on a tropical vacation? First of all, start with the outfit essentials, meaning your bathing suits (at least two) and the things that you want to wear on the beach. These include kaftans, long skirts, beach dresses, and hats. Apart from that, think about what you’re going to wear to dinners, lunches or cafes. For this occasion, make sure to bring a pair or two of summer jeans, white tees which you will be able to match with anything (they will look good on your new summer tan), shorts and shirts. So, something formal as well. Finally, do not forget to bring something with long sleeves as the nights can get quite chilly and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Add comfortable shoes, slippers, and flip-flops and you will be good to go.

The additional equipment

Tropical Vacation

Apart from your clothes and cosmetics, there are things that you should bring even though they don’t come to mind at first. Think about the equipment that you will use while on your trip – if you’re going to snorkel, you might as well bring your own equipment (safety first!). Don’t forget the equipment that will make each day on the beach memorable for you – such as a good book and speakers or headphones for your beach playlist. And lastly – bring your camera if you want to record some unforgettable memories on your tropical vacation.

Leave some space

Now that you’re entirely packed, see if you have some additional space in your luggage for the souvenirs and gifts that you’re going to purchase there. This is one of the major things people overlook while packing, and as a result, they have to pay for extra luggage, so make sure you’re safe in this department.

2020 might have started in a rocky way, but that is not a reason why we shouldn’t make the most out of the summer. Choose the tropical or romantic travel destinations you want, make a list of all the things that you want to pack at least seven days prior to your trip (so that you could add and remove items) and there you go. Have a great trip!
